A hands-on STEAM experience for Year 4–6 homeschoolers.
What if you could see sound?
Discover the invisible forces behind sound and vibration through a fascinating, hands-on scientific investigation.
We hear sound every day, but have you ever stopped to think about what’s actually happening?
What makes sound travel through the air? How can something invisible make objects move? And can we use science to make those invisible vibrations visible?
In Seeing Sound, children explore these questions through experiments that bring the physics of sound to life.
The challenge: Can you make slime dance using sound?
Can sound make slime dance?
Children make oobleck (slime) and investigate how vibrations can make slime move, turning an invisible phenomenon into something they can see.
What does sound look like?
Using a microphone and oscilloscope, children explore sound waves and visualise the vibrations that produce sound.
How can we investigate something we can’t see?
Children practise observing, asking questions, testing ideas and using evidence to understand what’s happening.

Jeremy brings a rich background in programming, sound engineering, physics presentation and science education—but the real teacher in these workshops is curiosity.
The goal isn’t simply to give children more facts.
It’s to help them discover:
✨ Find the miracles in the mundane.
🔬 See the science hiding in plain sight.
💡 Discover that ideas, reason and imagination can change what is possible.
